I have a 2003 thin skin American Standard Stratocaster the neck plate is blank no inscription no adjustment hole. Was this changed or did some Standard USA models come with a blank neckplate? This is driving me crazy.

Welcome.

I hate to tell you this but someone, "pulled the ol' switcheroo" on your guitar.

Yep, MIA had microtilt holes on them for years. Possible you may have a Highway 1 if it has 22 frets... The first year of Highway 1's had the pre-CBS era headstock....

As a matter of fact, dont all Strats have the micro tilt except for reissue models?

I found out from customer service, Fender, that the Highway 1 made in Corona, California came with no inscription on the name plate, no center hole also. a local reputable guitar repair person took off the neck and confirmed all American made and told me the same story about the Highway neckplate being blank, no switch-er-roo here. I feel better, but was told the Highway 1 is the low end American Strat. However, a set of Hot Gold Lace pickups, locking keys and 300 bucks it'd be a high end Strat.

Lot of players would actually disagree that Highway 1 is low end. I do not own one but I like the features.

they aren't, one of my most loved and favorite guitars is an early highway one. only thing I ever changed was the pickups. great quality, finish isn't real durable though
