I think you need to send me those guitars, so I can decide.

I like both, very nice sound comparison and your playing highlighted the strengths of each instrument.

LOL!! I think you are number 14 on the waiting list for my guitars :D :D

Thanks! But, to be honest I'm much more comfortable playing the strat. Its so much more expressive IMHO.

Them Les Pauls take a bit of getting used to mate. I don't think their any less a guitar than a Strat. Just a little harder to work with. Even setup is difficult to get right. They really are like walking a tightrope. Too much of one thing and it's all overboard.

Have you tried the balancing the volume controls on the middle position. So say the bridge volume is on 10 the neck on 8 or 9. It can give a kind of pseudo Strat Bridge/Mid sound. Or go Bridge 8/9 Neck 10 to get a kind of Strat Neck/Mid sound.

Enjoyed the clip man, thanks.

You know, I've never really considered Gibson and Fender to be competitors; they are complementary . Both have something to bring to the table.

I think both guitars have their place. That's why I have one of each. Big differences between the two for sure, but those are good differences. If I was a gigging musician, I might have two each so I'd have a backup of one or the other. Regardless, no matter how many "has to be Strat" fans or "has to be a Les Paul", I'd bet most have at least one of each. I think everyone should have at least one just for those days which the tone of one sounds better than the other...( And No, I'm not about to give, sell, or otherwise help anyone obtain another guitar! )

Can't watch the video at work (no video streaming allowed). I have an AM Deluxe Strat, and my next ax is gonna be a Les Paul. I love the sound of both. Never know what kind of mood I'm gonna be in, so I vote for both as being the best! :D

I feel your pain StingyCH, my strat was stolen last year! :x But has since been replaced, and I upgraded, too.
