When did Fender start putting bar codes in the bodies? I'm selling my '96 Tex Mex body, but there is not a bar code label in the body. I'm about 99% sure, I'm the first person to remove the picguard since installation...

Just a guess here, but would think this is to keep track of bodies during assembly? Especially if someone orders a guitar, got to have a way to track that the color and neck line up with what was ordered.

Not sure when they started this.
