Hi,

I just read about the Fender Stratocaster, Made in japan (printed on the head). As mine has the serial number starting with H, it should be made between '88 and '89.

It is a red one, darker than the fiesta red, but lighter than cherry. The fingerboard is maple.

Can someone help me out to find the model and if this one is a collector guitar or a good guitar? It was bought second hand beginning 1990.

Thanks for helping me out here.

Cheers

That doesn't tell anything other than a small detail and what it looks like. Pics could shed some light.

The MIJ 50's reissue is chock full of Clapton vibe.

Did you plan to stick a set of LSes or VNs (with the mandatory TBX/MDX circuitry) on it?

Actually it looks closer to a "Contemporary" model. And if the cast tuners and dual string trees were disregarded, it could pass for a '50s re-issue in Dakota Red.
