Just wanted to update an earlier post I had made about replacing the pups in my 05 Am Dlx Strat. I replaced the SCN pups with the Custom Shop 54s. I built a loaded pickguard so I could keep the original setup fully intact. I used 2 Fender no-load 250k tone pots and used an S1 volume pot essentially as a push-pull pot to get a few more pup combos. I was a little nervous about it sounding too tinny or trebly. Well I'll tell you, the guitar sounds so amazingly awesome now! Way more clarity then with the noiseless pickups. For being low output pickups they have alot of bark. The bridge is bright, middle pickup kinda ballsy, and the neck pickup creamy. The S switch allows me to get all 3 pups together or the bridge/neck combo. It definately nails vintage strat tone. Love it. Anyone looking to upgrage pups to get a vintage/clean strat tone, I highly recommend the cs54's.

I just put a set of 69 custom shops in my friends 08 american standard tonight. Amazing vintage tone very impressed.
