Hey guys, I am getting ready to buy a set of Fralin Vintage Hot pickups and I was wanting to know some more info on the blender pot that you can buy with them? I really don't know much about them.

I have an 2009 American Standard Stratocaster. It is all stock. Does it have a blender pot in it or no?

And when I switch to the 4th position with the Vintage Hots, will it also be hum canceling like my strat is now with the stock pickups?

Thanks guys! Info will be much appreciated.

No blender in that. You have one master volume, one tone control for the neck pickup, and another tone control for the bridge and middle pickups. A blender pot replaces one of the tone controls (you can rewire to make the remaining one a master tone that works on all three pickups). The blender allows you to add the bridge pickup to the neck pickup -- at low settings just a hint of the bridge gets mixed in, all the way up they're mixed equally.

Fralin's sets come with a RW/RP middle pickup unless you request otherwise. So yes, the 2 & 4 positions will be humcancelling.

I've tried the neck & bridge pickups together and didn't particularly care for it so I haven't tried a blender pot. (Neck & bridge is a cool tone that many people like; I just personally don't care for it -- I'm not a big fan of 2 & 4 either, or the middle position on dual humbucker guitars.)
