Just picked up this Strat locally and it is a MIM special run of only 250, has the number on the back of headstock. No mods, all factory options. Color is sort of a metallic orange. Made in 2003. It is a nice guitar, was wondering if there was a specific name Fender gave to this model? [img]ImageImageImageImage

I've got a similar 2006 HSS FSR model that is gloss black and chrome.. with the same chrome lettering on the headstock.

It's even got same 'engine turned' pickguard/backplate, and Telecaster knobs as yours.

Only the body/head color is different.

Unfortunately, even though mine is about 99% the same I can't find a model number or name either...

It was released as an Anniversary model with the medallion on the back of the head...

Never found a listing for it, but I know mine is original because the Fender Dealer I go through it a friend and got it straight from Fender distribution channels...

He saw it in his dealer newsletter as coming out soon and had to have one in stock...

I just barely snagged it a few days before it was going to move to his personal collection...

You've got a pretty instrument there, and if it's like mine it plays like a dream<G>

Hope you find out more...

BTW, those knobs are the ORIGINAL domed Tele style... and to me they feel 200% better than the plastic Strat knobs<G>

It does play nice and the fretboard is a nice dark rosewood. I agree, the Tele knobs work well with this. Very nice build quality on these.

Sell the neck, buy a maple one, sell the pickguard loaded, buy a mint green one with Lindy Fralin 69's.

Why would I do that and totally kill the value of the guitar?

I like that black pickguard, very nice effect, specially on top of that gorgeous Orange color. :)

It was a FSR Hot Rod themed strat GC sold a while back. My local GC (GC Columbus) has had one for a while.

Thanks, it makes sense that they were made for Guitar Center because of the color.
