I personally think that Fender is one of the most consumer oriented companies that I have ever dealt with. Though they could easily only focus on the higher price point products that they offer, they keep prices low and constantly offer quality products aimed at the lower price points. (Blues Jr. Super Champ XD, and the GDEC and Mustang Line, as well as the Champ 600) All of these amps out perform anything in their price class for all of my needs.

Compare that to Gibson or PRS or Mesa Boogie.

With Guitar Center Coupons, I bought an American Special HSS and a Blues Jr III for just over $1000. And it blows my mind. If I wanted similar products from Gibson and Boogie, I would have to pay at least 2-3x that.

That is true & not. Especially in this economy & close to Christmas... A couple trips to local Pawn Shops, as well as CL, & you can find amazing deals. I got my VHY Super 6 Ultra for $263 brand new. A 6 watt all tube amp with a Chromeback 12" speaker, a cabinet buily incrediby strong, & will peel paint off your walls, & has a 'boost switch for low volumes. I wouldn't trade it for a Fender twice that amount...

Heck, for the cost of a dust cover for a Mustang II, you could probably purchase a new Mustang I. Ha ha.

For real. Some company is selling covers for the Mustag II on Ebay, for $50. That's a quarter of the price of the amp

Anyway, I'm not saying that Fender is perfect, but they certainly get the benefit of the doubt from me. The quality of the products that I own, strikes me as an incredible value when I compare to other companies and even to Fender's past.

I too am willing to give Fender the benefit of my doubt & hope... I certainly don't care to part with my git... I just hope that they get their act together. These 'anniversay issues' are nothing more than an engraged plate. Yet they charge a lot more for them... I really don't care about a 50 yr anniversay name plate (for a Strat, or 60 yr anniversays for a Tele) for an extra $100. I'd rather have a well built guitar... Thanks for listening.

I definitely have to disagree with your post. Your input jack troubles are definitely a bummer and could be a quality control problem. I have personally only had that jack problem on guitars that I bought used or off the demo floor.

I had to disagree with my post also. Took a bit, but Fender turned out to be just as you said. It was just so frustrating at first. But Eric @ CS went out of his way to help me. While I can't speak for everyone @ Fender, I know that if someone like Eric represents the company, then they are indeed caring & consumer oriented. Which is why I edited my previous post. Thanks Mike.

BTW, I just purchased a SCXD amp for $199.99. Lot of talk going around why suddenly 1/3 of the price was dropped. Plus Sweewater has a notice that they have been discontinued... Fender also dropped it from their site. So I asked Eric. Think he was sticking to a company line, saying no, they're not discontinued, but keep an eye out in the very near future...
