I read in the musiciansfriend catalog that a "bad" batch of Blackmore strats came out
in 09. Are the 2011 Blackmore strats built with out any problems? Any one
tried one before?

check out musiciansfriend.com. type in blackmore stratocaster. You will
see reviews click on that. I do not know how Fender came out with a bad
batch.

Okay, I did that, but the one guy who talked about a bad batch (and going through a few to find a good one) did not say what the problem was with them. Hmmmm.

So much for the veracity of the members of "The Be The First To Review This Product" club.

Surely in this case as the reviewer wants the readers to accept his unsubstantiated, unilateral condemnation of this group of instruments.

Should have had some popcorn while reading those reviews.
Twice you send your guitar back because of the pup screw spring popping out because you unscrewed your pick up past its adjustment limit..

That's like taking your audi back to the dealer because you ran out of gas.
I didn't see any so called quality issues in those reviews, more of a clueless consumer(s) with a bone to pick and in need of a rant.

This is my personal view but were I to purchase a signature model, I would have to play that particular guitar before I payed for it.
Ordering online just wouldn't cut it..It's a specialty instrument with to many variables that cannot be ascertained blindly thru an online purchase.

Unless you can play a dozen guitars in one location, you cannot say that " Fender made a bad batch "
There is no way of knowing where that guitar was stored after it left Fender, if the humidity factor was correct at the store, how long was it before it was sold, what time of year did it get shipped....
I always have had to adjust a guitar once purchased, to my own preferences, they are made of wood, plastic and metal, three materials that expand and contract very differently.

Another point of those reviews I find disconcerting is the emphasis on overstating that those Strats are not MIA thus that is why the quality is not there...Total B.S.
Both my MIM Deluxe and MIJ Aerodyne are excellent, not on the same level as my CS 56 NOS but they only needed adjustment when first brought home.
I'm fine buying either MIM, MIJ or MIA, not specifically in that order but rather because I'm looking for a particular Strat or it just happens to be that one which is made wherever...
It is a Global economy and this idiocy of I only buy american made isn't realistic.
Be competitive, offer a better product and people will buy it......

I just don't read online reviews anyway. The main reasonnot being able to ascertain the veracity of the reviewer.

My Blackmore is a 09, one of the first ones (early Feb.) that came out when they were reintroduced and build in Mexico instead of Japan.
This guitar is absolutely amazing, tone to die for.
The only thing I did was cutting the nut to get the strings lower but I do that to all of my guitars as soon as I get them.
I played some of them (four) build in 09-11 and all four were great guitars. They seem to have a high level of quality and they are really close as guitars can be.
They don´t vary much in terms of tone and quality.

Cheers,
Robin

Thank you, Robin for debunking more potential, "Infallible Web Dogma". Enjoy!
