please help figure out what kind of special edition strat this is and why its special. i know its mex from 2004 but whats up with special edition stiker on back and i couldnt find this type of sunburst in the fender color chart. there is like a tiger striping under the sunburst it beautiful! maybe the prettiest mex strat ive ever seen

Like I mentioned yesterday, 2004 was the 50th anniversary of the stratocaster. They probably just used a special burst or a better grained wood then the normal standard strat. Most of the hardware looks pretty standard to me.

Have you tried calling Fender Support to ask them what was done to the standard strat to celebrate the 50th?

IIRC, I read in another post that all 2004 strats had the 50th anniversary mark like this.

It's because all parts are made in Corona, CA and assembled in Mexico.
