I have a couple Monster cables that work well. I also bought a couple of Mogami cables which I thought were just as good if not a little better. At the time, they were a bit cheaper than the Monster cables

I don't know what to think on this subject. Back in the '70s I used the coily cables especially the ones with plastic enclosures so you couldn't resolder. They always developed scratchy static over a short time. Decades later when I had a few more bucks, I sprung for "better" cables. I bought a 12' Monster cable along with three short cables to daisy chain stompboxes. Within 4 months I returned to take advantage of the warranty for the 12 footer and two of the three shorties - in three separate trips to the GC. The guy there told me he gets returns on these almost daily so if the quality was there once it isn't now.

I had a Planet Waves cable die within a year. By that time I didn't want to take a chance on the Mogawi as I felt I was just throwing money away on these "better" cables. BTW - My red Fender California Cable has been going strong for about 6 yrs now. In the interest of full disclosure, I do not gig so I don't need anything heavy-duty, but these other cables didn't do anything for my tone, either.

I've had good luck with the Fender Gold series cables and the vintage voltage cables. Middle of the road price wise seem to work for me.

My vote goes for the Spectraflex as well. I have had one for over 10 years and no issues. Planet waves is the runner up.

I have used the same Road-Hog cables for the past 20 years and they are still as good as new. They weren't cheap but they weren't the most expensive either, I paid about $20 for a 15' cable so that's pretty good and works out to a buck a year per cable so far.

I bought a guitar not knowing what it was. It turns out it was some sort of beginners guitar a Lead III with a Kubicki neck. The problem is the jack for the cord is noisy or I have a defective guitar cord.

It is a cheap cord that I thought was OK but now that I am plugged into a high powered amp I think the cord could have problems too. Rather than mess with the jack or cord I want to buy a high end cord that is sure to be good so I can properly diagnose the problem.

Please give me some high quality guitar cord suggestions, and a good brand of pot and jack cleaner.

You want high end cables? We got your high end cables right here.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I've had good luck with both Planet Waves and Monster cables however it sounds like your problem might be related to the guitar jack not gripping the cable tight enough.

My local shop carries some nice cables, at some nice prices... so there's one in each electric guitar's case/bag...

But I've got another dozen that get used just as much whether traveling out or staying in...

I like my Fender tweed cables a lot, but the Musician's Friend $4 20 footer in my gear bag works just every bit as well...
