I've been on the look out for a Daphne Blue EC Limited Edition 2010.

Have seen one on eBay and in the Music Gallery IL but it's not your usual EC LE 2010.

No signature, no coloured Custom Shop logo. Just the Todd Krause signature logo.

Is it a real EC Custom Shop? Is it a one off piece or special run?

Really like some help as I'd love to get it if it's the real deal!

Many thanks!

Mark.

The CS Clapton LTDs came in Teambuilt and Masterbuilt versions.

Your guitar is a Masterbuilt EC Strat LTD, an exact representation of Eric's personal instrument. The TBX tone pot is not present, though; you still have that 25dB "bump" in your fingertips to make this axe screaming "hot" during a solo!

With a Masterbuilt EC Strat you'll get the same guitar Eric uses live and in the studio.

That's why I mean an exact if not an accurate representation of Slowhand's personal axe.

And I wonder how much different that guitar is compared to a normal Strat? I'm always a little weary about custom shop artist guitars. They are based upon just normal guitars from back in the day and cost almost as much.

My gripe is that Eric's band line-ups doesn't have a second guitarist for the lead/rhythm section since Doyle Bramhall II's departure in 2009.

Perhaps EC will hire Gary Clark Jr. as a backing guitarist for the 2012 world tour.

Odd..... :?

Clapton has more often been a solo guitarist than sharing duties with a rythm player.
it's not as if the man cannot hold down the rythm..

Not true. If you look back over his history since going solo he has always worked with some of the best on tour and in studio.

Duane Allman, Albert Lee. Andy Fairweather Low, Steve Winwood, Doyle Bramhall II, Derek Trucks, Mark Knopfler, George Terry, and Tim Renwick. Clapton plays best when he has someone pushing him.

I stand by my statement....Clapton as a band does not need another guitarist, it is of his own choosing but the on'e you list are mostly prominent on the Crossroads Tour which are an entirely different situation.

Cream... :?: is one of many instances that come to mind.

I totally agree, the presence of a backing guitarist in the band adds more depth while he went on his lead excursions.

You forgot Phil Palmer and Dean Brown.

Of course there are moments during which the band line-ups lack off a second guitar, with the August world tours in 1986/87 and the "4-piece" nights in 1990/91 being fine examples.

The Back Home support tours in 2006/07 found Eric with two backing guitarists at the helm.

Everyone I listed, save for Allman, have been in his touring band at one time. Doyle Bramhall II and Derek Trucks were on his 2006,2007 world tour. Albert Lee was there for almost a decade. Mark did a tour with him in like 1988. Fairweather-Low has been around since the late 80's. He has done a few tours with Winwood.
It's all right here.

Phil Palmer was Clapton's backing guitarist for about 3 years. He left the band after the 1991 RAH shows to join Dire Straits.
