If it's Japanese, it could be a foto-flame with a floyd?

Katsiv, what makes you say this Guitar is made in U.S.? Just curious, because I have a Strat w/sn beginning with Fxxxxxx and cannot ID it. Mine is stamped on back of neck and also stickered "Made in U.S.A.

Where on the neck is your serial number? Is it on the back of the headstock? Or down on the heel of the neck by the body?

It is on the front of the Headstock, just like in Katsiv's photo.

If you know the country of origin or manufacture, go to:

http://www.guitardaterproject.org

Here you will be able to enter your serial number of your guitar and it will tell you when it was made and which facility. You do have to know the country in which it was made though.

I hope this helps.

Bill

Thanks Bill, I tried this before, but came up empty. Even Fender couldn't help me out. Mine is # F0xxxxx with a neck stamped made in USA. I took the neck off once and it was dated in pen 11/26/89. I am assuming it is US made. I bought it off a co-worker (who didn't play) in 1991 with tags still on it. I am thinking that maybe it was US made but made to be exported (just a guess). Anyway, it plays great so that's what is important.

It could also be an authentic replacement neck too. Just a thought.

But in the end, if it sounds good, who cares?
