I have a purple 12 string electric Fender Stratocaster. On the back it says "Crafted in Japan" , and the serial number is S015846. I searched around on the internet, but all I could find was that it was made in 2005-2006 at the Fuji-gen plant in Japan. Can anyone shed some more light on this guitar for me? Thanks!

You have a beauty. If I'm correct, it's an XII or something.

You have a second-generation MIJ Stratocaster XII in Burgundy Mist Metallic -- one of three available finishes. The other colors are/were 3TSB and Lake Placid Blue (my Strat 12-string is the latter). These are periodically available from Fender whenever marketing senses a demand. The guitars are nice but the electronics are crap, like most Fuji-Gen guitars. The first-generation editions had a 22-fret neck and used the bridge originally tooled for the Fender Electric XII (a "Jaguar-esque" shaped instrument, with dual split-coil pickups and a four-way selector switch). The later issues of the Strat XII were equipped with a new Gotoh tailpiece (as yours has) and the more familiar 21-fret Strat furniture with vintage frets and 7.25" radius.
