Oh what I might write can be a sacrilege, but it´s real. I own a 1979 Strat, USA, original, a 2007 Custom Shop Vintage reissue and a 1995 Ash American DLX.

By the way I am 39 and I been playing all my life. Fender freak here.

I bought a year ago, for sale (a steal for 85 dollars) a recent Bullet Squire Strat in fiesta red, it´s tone just blew me away, and slowly has become my guitar of choice, I have been doing "tests" vs my other fine and expensive Strats, and I´m convinced this cheap Bullet Squire has a better tone that the others. What do I mean by better tone? I mean that it has more "bell" it has more punch, and it has more bass and treble, very percussive, and I repeat I am comparing vs 3000 $ dollar original Fenders.

Experts illuminate me: What´s up with those cheap pickups and body? why do they sound so good?

So I dismembered the 1995 Am DLX and installed its tuners, bridge, plate, and neck, to the remains of the China Bullet (Body and Pickups), and wow!, I ended up with best of both worlds.

It looks identical as the Mark Knopfler´s Signature Strat, bet mine sounds even better, I´m not exaggerating I dismembered a 3000 $ Am Dlx for it..........

From now on I am care less where my next guitar is produced, i care for the tone and that´s it!!!

Wow, crazy to think of, but who are we to judge your taste in tone. But I must confess....

Not surprising anyway, I've heard cheap stuff blowing me away before too, guitars and amps. My 66 Musicmaster is my #2 guitar, in front of US Strat and Tele of mine. If you connect with something, keep it...

Ok I´d like to post pics, but where do I upload them in the web, from FB? Where can I upload pictues?..........more so I´d like to upload the tone from that guitar so u better understood me.........
My ash strat never really sounded like a strat it sounds more like a Gibson with single coils, a darker tone, next project is turning the remanis of my ash dlx similar to mick mars´s strat which I dig with 2 humbuckers and floyd rose, but with a vintage body and neck.
If by any chance any of u run into a china bullet, try it out and u might get lucky like I did. Nothing sounds brighter than those., and i been playing Strats for life.

What Am Dlx is worth 3000.00? I,ve also played some good sounding squires. Sometimes you just get lucky because they all don,t sound and play that good.

I'm sort of curious about that myself.

Personally I wouldn't pay $750 for one.

I agree, before buying the China Bullet I tested a whole strack of other Bullets, Affinity series and the pretty much sucked, I was lucky that the China bullet had been kept aside by the shop attendant cause it had a small scratch in the back, I didn´t mind paying 80 bucks for her.

Well the Custom Shop relic was 3000, the Am Dlx Plus, I don´t recall, bought it in 95 but has the ash body, the 50´s neck, the floyd rode bridge, i think it cost me close to 2000$ im not sure. The pickups of the Dlx are still on her, I kept the cheapos of the Bullet cause to me they sound better. I think they can be inconsistent in their windings.
