Hi all, My appologies if this has been covered but my searches did not come up with an answer. I purchased a 2010 Mexican Deluxe Players Strat last year. I chose this guitar because of the 12" radius neck and I couldn't be happier with it (the neck). Mine is transparent blone with maple fretboard. I recently swapped loaded pickguards with a gent from an American Special Strat that has an Atomic humbucker and Texas Specials. This pickup config definately suits my style of music better and I'm happy with the swap. I am not to fond of the black pickguard and pickups on the blonde body though. I'd like to swap bodies for a sunburst and I know that the chances of finding someone with a deluxe locally that would like to swap are slim so my question is...

If I find a MIM standard strat or fat strat body that has a big enough cavity for the humbuker, can I expect the neck to fit the body without significant mods to get it playing? I was thinking that if I find a body close to the same production year, they may run off the same CNC program.

Thanks! :)

Yes.

+1

No problem -- I swap MIM bodies and necks around all the time.
