I want to buy a 1997 American Roadhouse Stratocaster (serial number N7255450) but the neckplate is this one :

Instead of this one :

I don't know if some of this guitar were assembled with this types of neckplate. ?

I'm not 100% sure when the neck plates changed "Fender Corona California" neck plates started; I know that the "Fender" neckplate on the Roadhouse you're looking at was the one used prior to the "Corona" one. I think that the "Fender Corona California" plates started in 1998 when the American Deluxes came out; I know that they were in use by 2000 when the American Series replaced the original American Standards. I also would assume that Fender would have used up all of the "Fender" neck plates; they wouldn't just toss them out.

Having owned/played a series of these guitars, I can concur that they changed late '90s- my Lone Star (1999) was a Corona neckplate, whereas one of the Pluses I tried out recently (a '97 model) had the same plate.

I think it was just a little varied. I've seen some '97s with both, so I'd imagine that was the crossover year.
