Honestly as long as the tremolo operates smoothly and returns to proper tune after using then it will be fine. I've seen plenty of strats with 4 springs setup like that.

Hi krazyglue,

Seems typical to use four springs when using 10s with a floated bridge. For a different feel, you could also use three springs and tighten the trem claw screws. The tighter the springs are, the more they tend to ring.

I agree with the above post if the trem is smooth and it stays in tune it is fine.
I have seen a lot of different configurations but they all achieve the same goal.

That's also perfect for active electronics like EMG's. A 9 volt will sit nicely in the center there eliminating the need to lift the pickguard to replace it.

I would use three springs, better feel from the bar in my opinion. Four springs makes the bar feel harder to move and i don't like that.

Down to the individual tho'

No, I just realized what I had done. I was tired after a hard day of renovating my grandma's house. I just figured they were talking about the bridge and a Tele bridge has springs and I made the connection.

I used a strange spring configuration in my Strat. I had 4 springs. I did 2 from the left wall and then one hooked diagonally to the next slot on the claw and one next to the wall on the right side. This was looking at the guitar from the bottom.
