I was just playing my beatiful strat and was amazed at the difference in sounds by just changing from the bridge to middle pick up. Any techy guys can tell me why what appears to be a very little difference in position can lead to such changes..and i am using all of the same type of pick ups (SCN). Makes me love my strat even more.

That 5 way pick up switch gives you a combination of different pick ups being used either alone or together. Try turning your tone knobs all the way down also, you`ll get even more sounds from it if you havn`t tried it already. Strats are great, I love mine and its all stock.

Naturally the pickup may be different. Also the pickup will "hear" different overtone/harmonic content at different points along the string.
