The guitar featured on the website seems to have a rosewood fretboard.

The other details seem consistent with yours though.

Arjay

Yup, I found what appears to be your guitar at the Ishibashi web site: maple neck, same logo, plastic truss rod. It's a MIJ Standard Strat. Sells for 50,000 Yen (not a coincidence with the 50 in the model number).

Is it a good news for me? So you said it is a REAL / GENUINE fender, but it must be the japanese market only?

It's whatever you make of it. I think the Japanese instruments are brilliantly made, and currently my main guitar is an '80s Japanese Fender.

It does seem to be a standard Japanese model, and if you browse the Ishibashi shop you'll feel slightly happier! They were sold in Japan but I don't think they were exported officially.

Just enjoy it.

+ 1

Mine is an 84-87 62 neck on a 98 two tone burst. The guitar came with schaller style Gotohs which I changed to Gotoh vintage button style machines. I also changed the pickguard to a three ply white with cream pickups covers and knobs. Its a complete mismatch of years, but after a fret leveling job, some Klien 61 pickups, and a setup. It plays, and sounds great which is all that matters IMHO.

That guitar is a genuine MIJ Strat, but it aint a ST-50 at all. It's from the standard line, nothing special about it- on the grand scheme of things this sits around the same place as the MIM standard line.

That doesn't mean to say you don't have a fine guitar there! :)

Yeah, I bought from a trusted seller (I think), and you can say that it is a real japanese fender , right? I mean, this is not a unknown custom from nowhere

ah thank you for the answer, i just dont get it about the 50 after ST (ST50) , yeah, this guitar is good, everything was perfect besides this guitar has a treble bleed wiring and professionally setup, but the sound of this guitar is the middle of vintage and modern, i dont like this point though

by the way i love yer '85 50's RI, its so shinny and sexy :D

There's no difference between MIJ and CIJ. Crafted In Japan is what they were changed to 1997 onwards.

PLAY THE GUITAR ALREADY. :P

and ill be sorry too, im not in europe, but maybe the best way to find it is buy from the user it self, even in my local music store dont sells japanese fender, or you should try to find out in a store which sells second hand guitar.
but the easiest way just buy from the japanese online music store
