Fender Japan did a limited-edition run of his '72 Strat with the broken pickguard, here's a photo of him playing the guitar on-stage.

Later, Jeff replaced the original rosewood neck with 50s-style maple neck.

The original JB Strat debuted in 1991, however Jeff used a Mystic Black Strat Plus which supposedly became the basis for the signature model) during the Fire And Fury tour with SRV in 1989.

I used to have hair like THAT too and somehow, I tend to think that Jeff doesn't any more either, notwithstanding outward appearances.

    I was thinking the same; how can Jeff still have that mop of hair at his age? he's like 65 or somethin' :?:

But in saying that, he can get away with it 'cos he's the best player out there IMO :D

He's likely taken advantage of references from Tina Turner.

 Yes definitely, thing is it's a good job he's a rock legend and is phenomenol on guitar 'cos imagine being 65 and still having all that hair and being a crap player! much ridicule would ensue! I'm only 49 and hardly have any hair left!

Neither does Peter Frampton compared to his youth, but he's not wearing a hairpiece.

And this is why Fender should make a Pete Townshend Stratocaster.

Do you really think it's a hairpiece Jeff's got? I thought it was his real hair!

Oh no! someone tell me it isn't so!

Well even if it is my opinion is still when you're that good you can get away with it! maybe

I'm suspect, that's all. There's something about the way it looks that has an uncertainty about it.

Come off it Gorgon, you can see the John Craven influence on Jeff a mile off. If you put him reading the BBC kids news in 1994, would anyone have noticed?

Definite transplant

Jeff Beck, not admitted anything

Get him on Newsround

  I see it now but, i don't know, i never thought about it before. It does look too much of a rug to be real. I used to wonder how can jeff have such a great head of hair at his age? then i joined the forum and i think i'm now getting the answer! it's false!

Maybe if he toned it down a bit and made it look more reasonable then it wouldn't look quite as in your face.

John Craven! i didn't know his was a "highland" either! all my memories of watching newsround back in the day are now tarnished and tainted forever! :(
