Sweet axe, man. It's got that Robin Trower vibe, looks ready for "Bridge of Sighs" to be banged out on it.

Thanks!! On the same week, I purchased a Gibson 1958 reissue VOS, washed cherry sunburst, Jimmy Page appointments, with this American Special Strat. Its been about three weeks now since I purchased them and I find myself going for the American Special Strat as my axe to play. Is this normal? I just love the way Fenders play and sound.

bluesguitar65,
yes, it is quite normal to gravitate to one guitar over another. However, that Gibby you have is one beautiful guitar too. She looks as if she deserves some lovin too.

On the other hand, you can always send her to me. I'd see to it she gets loved.

Jeff

Congrats, you have yourself a pair of beauties. You said that you find yourself going to the Fender more.Rather than have the Gibson sit around and collect dust send her to me and I'll play the $@!& out of her and pay all the shipping charges.

EVeryone ought to have at least one Les Paul as a nod to the master. They're heavy SOB's though and a lot less ergonomically designed to play than the Stratocaster, whose design evolution was based on just that. To be easier to play.

It's funny you say that. My beef with my strat is when I rest my hand on the bridge to palm mute, the volume knob is in my way. I wrap my pinkie around it but have to make sure I don't twist it by mistake. The LP feels better for my right hand, probably because it's much closer to my Guild which was my only electric guitar for close to 40 years.

When they developed the 'ash tray' bridge cover for the Stratocaster, I don't think anyone had any ideas about palm muting.
