Hello , its my first time in the forum so if any part of my post seems stupid I apologise ! 8) . on Saturday I purchased a Fender Mexican 60's Reverse headstock stratocaster . I like the guitar very much :) , although it needs some setting up. I'm really just trying to find out more about it as infomation seems very limited.

what im really trying to find out is:

exactly when it was made ?
exactly what pick ups it has installed ?
which machine heads it has fitted ?

Do the majority of parts come Fender usa and are asembled in Mexico ? or are they maufactured there.

Ideally what i'm after is a detailed Spec as i am unable to find much of anything online.

The fit and finish is genreally Very good as is the basic sound , it would definately benefit from being set up by someone more expreienced than myself. Only real downside is that the single ply pickguard is poor and i will replace that at the first oppotunity. I was lucky as i got the guitar new for way under the RRP . Any info or guidence would be much appreciated. Thanks :)

Dear Daniel

Thanks for your email. I am sorry for the delay in responding to you but I have been doing some digging about your guitar. What you have is a limited run that was only available in selected stores. From the research I have done we have concluded that it has the standard Fender pickups that are found in our Mexican standard guitars. I would recommend that if you wish to change the pickups then take it to a local guitar tec to look over just to ensure that there is no strange wiring. We doubt that it would have but as it’s a limited run product we do not have all the details on it. The machine heads will again be standard Mexican machine heads. As far as the pick guard goes, we do not make one with the reverse bridge hole. Again this is down to the limited run. You could ask companies such as All parts who may supply third party plates that fit.

Thanks for your question and please feel free to email me again if needed.

Kind regards

Ryan

In Terms of which schematics are closest to the guitar i have ,Fender suggested as below :

Hi Dan,

Yes my recommendation would be follow the 60’s plans. Again if in any doubt ask a tec, but I’m sure you will be fine. Do you have a particular sound or style in mind I could ask the tec guys here to see if they can recommend any particular sets to you.

Kind regards,

Ryan
