I have been using Formula 65 cleaner a while now on my Strat and it does a great job at cleaning it up. I also noticed if I put it on my fretboard it will make it super slippery. I do this every couple days when the fretboard starts to feel sticky.

Do you think it is safe to put this on my rosewood fretboard? Also is it safe to get it on my strings as well?

I don't want it to strip the tone out of the strings sooner then later. I spray it on a cloth to apply it so it gets on the strings a lot when I clean the fretboard.

Personally I would not use it on a rosewood fretboard or my strings.

i would use something like lemon oil on a rosewood neck.... not sure that would damage it, but i would be safe and not risk it

Dunlop has lemon oil. That is what I use on my rosewood fretboards.

Yea I put lemon oil on my fretboard every time I change my strings, which is about every 2 months. I don't like using the lemon oil more then that becaues it make the fretboard feel sticky to me. Yea I know im getting a little crazy with this. lol

I like the Formula 65 becaues it seems really popular and it makes the fretboard really slippery. Probably too slippery for some people but its something I seem to like.

I was just wondering if some one knew or had a personal experience with it, and could say its safe or not.

Thanks anyway

Are you referring to the F65 Ultraglide fretboard cleaner or the F65 Polish/cleaner spray? If it's the Ultraglide, it's made for your fretboard. If it's the spray, you might want to try the Ultraglide or something like Fast Fret.

As I understood the question I was referring to the Polish/Cleaner which has wax in it and like I said I personally would not use it on a rosewood fretboard.

...or Finger Ease instead of Fast Fret. Definitely no polish on the strings though.

Thanks for the help. I'm gonna try GHS Fast Fret, it got the best ratings on zzounds.

I was using the polish/cleaner.
