Hi,
I found an interesting offer. One guy is selling guitar, supposed to be Fender Stratocaster.
It's cheap, like $350. Too cheap, that's why I am here.

I don't have high quality photos, but can you tell me if it is an original Fender, or is it fake?

You can't really read where it was made on the headstock. I checked that serial number. It appears to be made in 80's in USA or Japan.

Thanks in advance for help.

I might have to say no, based on the headstock shape and the hole for the nut.

Fake.

Not a US or Mex or Japan Fender. It has all of the features of a Squier or Copy, with a decal applied. You can get a real Fender used for about that price or less, or even a new Squier. I would pass.

It did look like a waterslide. It also looked like it was peeling.

Thanks. I almost bought it being afraid that someone could be faster than me. Fortunately, I asked you on this forum.

I'm looking for a decent Stratocaster, since I want to sell my Jackson DXMG. I'm done playing heavy stuff. Thought I could get an original Fender that cheap. Looks like I was wrong

You can find many, many good used Fender Mex Stds for $300 or less on eBay every day. You can get a new Mex Std for around $450. Lots of new Mex models at a decent price. I just picked up a new Fender Blacktop Strat (Mex) for $425 brand new.

I know you can get a good guitar for a great price in USA.
The problem is I'm from Poland, where new Mexican Std is about $650. Used start from $450. There are a lot of Squiers, like Vintage Classic 50' for about $400 but I'm not sure if it's the way to go.

Ebay sounds good, especially prices there. However, shipping may be so expensive it wouldn't be worth it. I need to read something about it. Never ordered anything from USA.
Moreover, if there would be a problem not mentioned in auction, it would be close to impossible to return.
I wish I knew a person who does that kind of stuff.

I'm searching ebay but it's hard to find a worldwide shipping, not to menton free shipping.
Looks like shipping to Poland is about $99. Well, it would be still cheaper including shipping. There aren't many sellers offering worldwide shipping though.

I'm from Ireland and i've had similar problems. Bear in mind that if you buy something from outside Europe i.e. USA you will be subject to import tax in Poland. It's quite high here, like 25% of the cost of the guitar AND the shipping!!

Just check out the import duty rates in Poland before buying anything on ebay or anywhere else from outside Europe!

It's sickeneing really, you guys in the states don't know how lucky you are with the prices you can pick up a second hand strat for! :)

Thomann.de has a cyberstore in Polish, maybe there will be something helpful on there, and a guitar that is a bit closer to you that over in America!

If you mean the "Classic Vibe 50s", I think that would be a very nice choice for the money. Probably your best option under the circumstances.
