I plan on building a guitar via warmoth . My body design is complete but I'm working on the neck & hit a bump. I don't know which shape to get (Standard C, Gibson '59 Roundback, Clapton V, Stevie Ray Vaughn asymmetric , Boat Shape, Deep U, etc). I have relatively long fingers and I don't like the feeling of the 50's reissue les pauls . I think I need a smaller neck.
Which radius and neck shape should I get?
What do you use/like?
What do you suggest?
Please Comment your opinions & thoughts

Its all personal to the player.

But, I find that I play a bit faster and classic rock/blues style on my strat with a thinner neck(mexican standard), and a bit slower and more meaningful/emphasised on my 72 tele deluxe (like gary moore, but alas not...   )

Although I do seem to be speeding up on my tele.

I think I prefer doing chord stuff on the tele, because there is more to grip onto.

The best thing you can do is to try out as many neck profiles as you can and go with the one that feels the most comfortable to you. Find a guitar store with a large inventory of axes to try, and when you find the most comfortable neck, ask what the profile is.

Mebbe try a couple modern steel strung acoustics, too. Some have very cuddly necks.
