Here's a shot of John playing his '61 Strat, which I believe was identical to George's......

I posted info about a guy who makes up dead ringer "Rocky" Squiers a while back but sadly didn't copy it down for my own records.Does anybody par chance have that info? I hope to have my own some day to put in my Beatle guitar collection.

I know George only used Rocky for slide for the last 10-15 years of his life but I was surprised to see the action that high.

Seems to be the same model but not his own which had a much darker wood with a different pattern.
Or is it the light ???

"Rocky" has been one of my favourite guitars of all time.
I eventually made my own using a black Squier Strat I had.
I made it a couple of years before George passed away.

He said in an interview on "The Fender Stratocaster story"
that he had a conversation with Ry Cooder with Ry telling him to raise the action loads and use heavier strings to get a better tone
