Without saying that Strat pole pieces are not adjustable (LOL), how do I adjust them? The pole piece height of my pickups are staggered and do not pickup each string equally. The E strings are much quieter than the rest of the strings. It wouldn't bother me so much if it was just the low E string.

Can the pickups be disassembled and the pole pieces be adjusted from within? I think I read somewhere that they may be glued/epoxied to the pickup. (?)

Can the pole pieces be filed down so that they are equal or semi-equal height?
If so, has anyone tried that?

I do not want to replace the pickups. All three have mis-adjusted pole heights.

Thanks for any help.

Basically no, there is nothing you can do to adjust the pole pieces. Whatever you do don't try to grind them down, the heat from the grinding could ruin the pickup. Also don't try to push any of the poles down through the pickup, this could most likely break the winding inside and leave you with a dead pickup. Of course you could take it apart and rebuild the whole pickup, but who the hell wants to go through that much trouble.

Best thing to do is just buy more pickups if your not happy with the sound from the ones you've got.

It would be cool to see Fender build a pickup with adjustable screws for the pole pieces, kinda like a Gibson P-90, but make it just like a regular Fender single coil except have screws for adjusting each pole.

don't buy new PU yet.... blackmore got this issue too... (same as for me)

you can adjust your PU height or you can use "THE BLACKMORE TRICK"->if you use 0.10 set, then change the 1st E string with 0.11 and whalaaa it's solve our problem(ritchie blackmore and me  ).

An adjustment screw for the pole height, and the Blackmore trick.
Good ideas.

Thanks for the info.
