BLACK!? With Deluxe Locking Tremolos? I know many strat players that actually have these Deluxes and swear by them. Black is also a very popular Strat color. They made Montego Black ones but no more.
The only answer on the Deluxe Locking Tremolo for us now is the Super Vee. I called Fender lookin for parts for mine, ask about this and they said have you looked at our Charvels? Our Jacksons? What bout your Fenders?

Hey - new model, new colors. Fender does this all the time - I am surprised that there isn't some form of black, but I would suspect that Fender will bring something back in another year or two. They had black American Deluxes from 1998-2009 (regular black 1998-2003, the Montego black 2004-2009).

The locking trem? I'm not sure; that was originally a Floyd Rose design (and it even had the Floyd Rose logo on it from 1993-1997). Maybe they don't have the rights to use it any more? It could be as simple as the locking trem didn't sell as well as the regular trem overall; I think Fender dropped it as an option back in 2008 or so.

Its official name was Fender Deluxe Locking Tremolo, but yes it was a Floyd Rose that fit in an American Standard and Deluxe 2 point tremolo. It had no fine tuners. It was combined with an LSR and locking tuners.
Best tremolo system ever for tone and stability. Tuning was also a snap.

The Deluxe Locking tremolo (Mini-Floyd) is currently still in production but not actually available as an optional equipment material on the post-2010 American Deluxe HSS.

Fender sells the Mini-Floyd as a separate accessory so you can install the assembly into your guitar and make your own "American Deluxe Strat HSS LT" without the price tag!

Are you sure about this? I talked to Fender customer service 3 times and each time they said they had discontinued this model and finding the parts are tough. What is the part number?

At this point all I see in my future are Fender American HSS Standards with vintage noiseless pickups and super vee tremolos.

Actually that bridge was called the "Fender-Floyd Rose" trem when it first came out on the Deluxe Strat Plus and Strat Ultra in mid-late 1993. I think the name changed to the "Fender Deluxe Locking Tremolo" when the American Deluxe series came out in 1998. It seems like the old "Floyd Rose Classic" model became the "American Special Double Locking Trem" model about that same time.

Its far better than an original floyd rose. You can do multiple tunings hassle free and it has classic strat tone.

Fender stopped offering the Deluxe Locking assembly on the US Deluxe series in 2007.

I've recently seen the locking trem on the products page but it seems that you're right about the discontinuation.

Do you really want make your guitar an HSS LT?

I suppose you've the Montego Black Metallic HSS with the gold vynel guard and 1-piece maple neck/fretboard.

From my understanding your goal is to make it an HSS LT such as the pictured guitar.



Tough luck my friend, Fender has no plans to reintroduce the mini-floyd either as a spare accessory or an optional equipment material on the Deluxe HSS w/ N3s & raw switch.

Yes that is my exact strat. I changed the pickguard to pearl white put in all Dimarzios and have a rosewood finger board but yep thats my girl.
I just want more of them! I know i have investigated all of it and its ebay only for me.
I play metal and rock like godsmack zombie Bls hendrix sabbath. I have had Jacksons charvels kramers deans nothing compares. That strat is the most metal guitar ever!
