Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar

I am having problems with the "A" string; when plucked in the open position or fretted in the first 3 positions (b flat, b & c) it vibrates excessively (doesn't happen when fretted pass the 3 rd position)

Could it be a problem with LSR roller nut which only affects A string. " A" string not as taut as others. I have raised bridge and lowered pickups to no avail and neck has proper relief...I am at

a loss as to how to correct....any ideas?

Hi billt199,

If you have the same "problem" open or fretted, I would think that would eliminate the possibility of the nut being the problem. Although I am not clear what you mean by "vibrates excessively". Sounds like it could possibly be just a bad string. Is it possible that you have the A string tuned an octave low? (not as taught as others)
