Just noticed these products appearing in the product section. Looks interesting and sure to generate opinions. Does anyone know where they are being made?

From what i know they are made in China. I wasn't aware that they were making Strat versions though.

Now more importantly (and sorry to hijack your thread) are ANY of these models being made in left handed?

Getting seriously disheartened with the lack of support by Fender...

Why does the Telecaster bass not look like a telecaster?

I emailed Fender and was (politely) told that none of the modern player guitars are available in lefty, and was given links of fender's 'great range of left handed guitars' which consisted of...surprise surprise.....strats and teles :D

Unless you order a lefty version of these modern players from the Custom Shop. :)

I've got a Tele on order - actually pre-ordered it a while back. They were supposed to start shipping on 10/11, now they are supposed to start shipping 10/22. I suppose I will get mine eventually. It was the same when they started promoting the new G-DEC 3 Thirty - took a long time to get them out there.

The Tele I ordered:

The Marauder I'll likely add a little later on:

Made in China doesn't bother me - most of the new guitars made in China look, feel and sound PDG!

I love the designs on these guitars but I wouldn't buy one because I just don't trust the manufacturing done in china. These are the guys that make children jewelry out of cadmium just because it's the cheapest metal on the market at the time. I've gone to guitar center and seen MIC epiphones with broken necks straight out of the box three times. If these were made in Mexico I would buy one without a second thought! To be fair I guess I'll at least try them out just to see how they are. I love the thinline with p-90's.

The original Telecaster Bass was in many ways an re-issue of the original P-Bass, but deviated from the original in several ways - most obviously the pickups. As such, there has never been a Tele Bass with a body shaped like a Telecaster guitar. Of course, the head-stock shapes are nearly identical.

Chinese forum member dinostudio posted a link that indicated that AXL is the Chinese maker of these Modern Player guitars.

Check out this link.

Here are pictures of a couple (not yet announced in the US) Modern Player Stratocasters.
