Partscasters rock. What you will have essentially is an MiM Start that was made as if you were an employee for a day. I say go for it.

Cheers!

i've actually been considering trying this out since my custom shop strat was canceled buying a guitar piece by piece sounds like an awesome idea i want to see if i could get me a nice strat body but here in portugal it's just so hard mostly cause i want a body with the right dimensions of a fender body i was actually thinking of going with an mim body that was stripped off a guitar but it's an expensive idea i don't know if i could get a decent guitar body for this idea

+1

Players who are fastidious about their instruments love to cherry-pick each component in a guitar. If you plan right you'll end up with the best of everything.

Best of luck

Arjay

I couldn't agree more... everything from neck shape to fret size right on down the line to the color and electronics you want. It's basically the poor-mans Custom Shop one off. And if you're lucky, for way less!
