Post subject: vanishing dot markers?

I have a nineties American Strat with a maple neck.Two of the dot markers are fading away! Has anyone else ever noticed that happening to their guitar? Goll

I heard somone else say something similar to that on another thread. Their answer was that some air may have gotten under the dot and over time it fades. Ask Fender themselves, see what they have to say about it.

Sounds like normal wear in an area of the neck you spend a lot of time in.

Hey guys, I started a post a little while ago about this topic; I believe that is the thread JPD is referring to. My maple neck also is showing dot wear. There were many theories proposed as to why this was occuring (including the moisture/air theory JPD mentions), but after re-examining which dots are wearing, I've come to the conclusion that it is just the normal wear from where I play the most. The dots where I typically don't play simply aren't wearing or "fading"; but, the ones that I typically play around are definitely wearing away.
