Hey, Forum;

I'd like to mod my Strat with a bridge Humbucker, but still want a good single pole option in that position. Is there a better Humbucker for this? One that lends itself to splitting and isolating the bridge coil, putting out a nice Strat colored, single-coil sound?

Much thanks for all advice.

I'm a Carvin fanboy, so I will definitely say the C22B for the split tones.
Seymour Duncan and Dimarzio have some popular HBs that are splitable, and you may want to investigate Bare Knuckle pickups and find out about some of their models.

Thanks, lindseyp; I wish I could try one of everything, but once the pickup is installed, it's almost impossible to return. I'm curious about the Carvin, mostly because it's outside the 'elite' group... or I could be wrong. I do like hearing the lesser known guys getting respect.

I think the custom shop uses a pearly gates because the split single gives around a 6700k to 7k Ohm range sorta like a hot wound strat single coil bridge pickup. Stevie Ray Vaughan was known for having Seymour over-wind the stockers that were in several of his strats. The Pearly Gates just plain sounds good too. You could always go JB if you want more hair on the output.
