Mmmm intrigue.....given your employment background shaky I deduce that No1 your students and No2 various other build threads containing liquid refreshment advertisments that you tried desperatly to avoid, have infact driven you to drink and the next instalment will be of yourself armed with what's left of your strat in a menacing pose with the local gendarmerie trying disuade you from hurling abuse at anyone and anything within striking distance.
My second guess would be a totally unique graphics paint job :) .

It is a lovely piece of wood... or should I say four pieces of wood. I bought it as a highway one 1 piece but it's still cool with me.

How are things coming along shaky, working your fingers to the bone I'm guessing :) H&S probably has a rule against that sorta practice, any updates on your build

Well the next step was this, all nice and flat with 280 wet and dry. I left a little bit of the finish as an experiment.

Then these rough absorbent areas appeared.

I hate putting anything under cellulose but it had to be sorted. I decided to go with shellac.

Image

Then 4 coats of primer. I normally used 3 on a car but it was getting to be fun!

Image

I like this point - the paint is sitting down nicely and can be left for a while.

A mist coat to see where I was when I flatted down with 800 w+d before the next coat.

Image

This next image was during the colour phase. I was getting over confident and this was a really wet coat, just about on the limit of what will stay without sagging I guess.

Image

I wish I could get the true colour on your screen, it is beautiful. But then we probably all see colour differently anyway.

Image

I ground the edges of the neck screws before I put the 'neck' back on so that the paint won't pull away when I unscrew them.

How do theses images come up on your monitor. I like them big but then I have a big screen. Smaller maybe?
