I just received my 2011 American Standard and I have a question. It has two long posts for the 6th and 5th strings then four short posts for the 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st strings. Is this correct? I have purchased the Fender Locking Tuners(F on the back) for it and they have three long posts and three short posts. Whats up with that?

Hi freekzila,

That is normal, two long and four short for the Am Std. The locking tuners use the same concept, except that they only have three short ones. The idea of the short posts on the two middle tuners is to keep the D and G strings closer to the headstock so as to not need a second string tree. On the locking tuners the shorter posts makes sense, but I don't like the shorter posts on the Am Std, as they don't allow as many turns on the posts as I like.

Thank you for the reply. Just makin sure before I put them on. Im loving my new American Standard, I put up pics soon. It is a really nice looking dark 3 tone burst with a rosewood fretboard. I sold a Highway One to get it. I couldnt stand the jumbo frets but I do miss the satin finish and the large headstock, I call it the fat funky headstock.

Getting mine within the next 2 weeks and I gave up my Strat Mahogeny(SPECIAL) body which was good looking in that RED stain just so you could see the Mahog Grain and it is great!.
But I could not play it after about 25 minutes because my wrist would go numb? Hey I know the Neck measurements are different on the special and the standard so it must be why my wrist is OK on the Standard ? That Blue / Grey color is not SEEN that much any where
