My wife promised me a guitar when we went on vacation this week and as if last Saturday I've been the proud owner of this little beauty below.

I've loving it...thanks to those locking tuners I'm going out of my way to put thing out of tune and the only time I had to tune it besides when they brought it out of storage a the music store is was after playing it the first time after getting off the plane when I returned home on Thursday afternoon.

I also got a Visual Sound Double Trouble pedal (think dual TS808's in a single stompbox with dual switches and controls) and it was instant SRV tone. Don't get sucked in... if you want a tone close to SRV's there's no need to spend thousands of dollars... a strat with a rosewood fingerboard and a Tubescreamer or reasonably good clone of one going into a tube amp will do the trick - texas special pickups and a fender amp will get things a little closer but the bulk of the sound can be achieved with a stock strat and a tube sceamer into just about any tube amp.

Congratulations!! That's a fine strat that will serve you for life my friend. I do like that color. Enjoy it!!
