What? Do you want something to listen to? Or are you looking for pedals, amp settings? Are you talking mods? Not clear what you are asking. :?

It would also help to know what guitar and amp you are using. This is a Stratocaster forum.

Wow, a POD, you can't be out of ideas! I could spend all day tweaking my POD for an infinite number of sounds, they are great. Nice guitar too. :)

You might check out Line 6 website, there is lots of cool info, and you can even download presets from other users for your POD. I downloaded updates to my POD which included some more amp models that I didn't have. You might find some SRV tones already made in the user presets, and you can download them and save as presets in your POD.

http://line6.com/

At the top of the site, under "Community", click the "CustomTone.com" link for user presets, then select your model and browse tons of suggestions for tones:

http://line6.com/customtone/

Enjoy! :)

Edit:
Here are a couple that are labeled SRV presets:
http://line6.com/customtone/tone/210967/
http://line6.com/customtone/tone/212191/

You can also usually find lots of amp models, maybe even one for the particular amp that SRV used, to get the tone that you want. Then add the POD effects (reverb, etc).

To begin with I would get a different amp. Peavey Delta Blues amp. It's got a 15" speaker and good distorsion.

I play blues and use a lot of bass and Treble. Also don't forget that you have tone knobs on the guitar. To get a Clapton tone on my Hwy1 I turn the tone knobs on the guitar to around 4 using the 2 and 4 positions.

My best peice of advice I can give is to listen to the tone of the people you like and try to match it.

There is one aspect of tone you have no control of is the player your listening to. If SRV were to hand you his guitar with his settings you would still sound different than him.

Just my opinion here, but you'll have to get a tube amp to get anything near SRV type tones.

The Peavey Delta Blues that was already mentioned it a good choice. But anything with tubes beats solid state anyday in my opinion.

When's the last time you ever saw an FM212R on a stage where the tickets to get into the concert cost seventy or eighty bucks?

Check out Traynor. I have the YCS50H with a Traynor 2x12 cab and it's fantastic. They have less expensive models too like the YCV series and the Darkhorse. These guys often draw comparisons to Fender, especially when you see their vintage amps because of appearances, but they've got their own character.

To get the SRV sound you don't need anything real fancy. Just about any tube amp will come close and put an Ibanez Tubescreamer or reasonably good TS clone in front of the amp and there is very little else you could do to get the tone. Note: a smaller tube amp of 5 to 20 watts should be sufficient unless you are playing gigs in large venues. The reason I say this is that it helps to be able to play the amp as loud as possible and you may not be able to get the amp to it's sweet spot if you're playing through a really powerfull amp in a small room. Without the pedal engaged the amp should be turned up to the point where the amp is just starting to distort and then engaging the pedal will push it into saturation.

Yes. i know. But i am 90% positive that i would sound like him if he gave me that.

Nothing against your playing or healthy positive aditude, but it's not possible. Every player plays and sounds different. I read a story about a famous guitar player who was jamming with Clapton. Well put his guitar down and left. The guy picked up Clapton's guitar and didn't change a thing. The guy was chocked to learn that he sounded different.

You can get close, but you won't sound just like your heros. The way they strike the strings, the type of strings, the room they are in, the wood their guitar is made from, the amount of presure they place on the neck, the way they hold the neck, their vibrato, and many other factors come into play.

I can get a pretty good, EC, SRV, Albert King, Andy Summers and Hubert Sumlin, but in the end I really just sound like me.

Well, just about anything is possible. I think that SRV absolutely nailed JH sound on the JH songs that SRV did (except the singing of course). I know that the first time I heard Little Wing by SRV, I thought that it was an undiscovered original by JH. Same with the solo from Voodoo Child. SRV was a rare talent, but there are others that can emulate their heroes quite well. But yes, the right gear makes a big difference, and much of the sound is in the players hands.

Is that amp good?[/quote]Its probably one of the better amps Fender makes .Very versatile. It has 2 channels ,reverb , tremolo and you can use it in your house or gig wiyj it as well.I have had one for 2 years and havent looked back.Great platform to build tone on.

The Fender Hot Rod Series amps are a possibility also. There's the Pro Junior (probably need a pedal for that one) and the Blues Jr. (might just be my next purchase), and the Hot Rod Deluxe (my current stage amp) and the Hot Rod Deville (recently traded a 410 model because it was just too damn big). But many people speak highly of the Blues Jr. I've played them in stores before and liked them so far.
