Hi
I play the American special strat and I just love it. The tone, the playability, the coulour..just everything.but.. I'm palming right over the 12 small screws on the vintage sync tremolo bridge. And it makes me suffer. Anyone has a solution for this, not changing my hand position.
And please dont't comment the language or spelling im Swedish

You could be hitting a joint somewhere or on a sensitive part of your hand. Just give it a rest for a week or so.

Hi Roadie
Quick answer, thank you ! It's not about resting I can play a set but it still hurts. I have tried different styles of play but I end up with my hand across the front of the bridge and the screws. And as I said its not open chords strumming, its rock palming :(

I had that problem too with my '68 reissue, the height adjustment screws were way too tall, so I took them out, one at a time and masking taped them to the allen wrench then held them against a dremel and sanded the bottoms down. (I very slightly rounded them as well)
Now with a minimal bit sticking out above the saddles, it doesn't feel sharp (I very lightly hand sanded the top of each screw as well) .There is still adjustment, but now they're not 1/8 inch above the saddles.

Thank you ted j and olemuso.
Probably I should round them as you said or tape them.
They are very sharp.

...or tape the hand the Kirk Hammet (Metallica) way 8)

I experienced the same problem on one of my guitars and I don't remember which one at this time but I believe it was a Squire Tele. ( I know, I probably spelled Squire wrong). I took the saddle height adjustment screws and cut them off and rounded the ends with a dremel tool. You can buy shorter screws but I was unable to find any with the correct thread pitch. Sure made the guitar more pleasant to play. By the way to accomplish this I drilled and threaded a small aluminum block that I could hold in a vise, then screwed the screws through the block leaving the amount to be cut off exposed and using an allen wrench to hold and prevent rotation while cutting them off.
