Hi taib,

Looks real to me, like a Mexican Standard. You're right, the pups are not TS. The extra pick guard screw hole in the body indicates that a different pick guard was installed at one time, this one isn't original, but that is no big deal. It appears that the new pick guard is a 60s style, and the original was the modern style, basically one screw hole is in a different location, I like the 60s style myself.

Nothing wrong with those pickups, they look like regular MIM standard ceramic pickups. Thats what this guitar is, a MIM standard.

Let's keep somethign in mind when were questioning the authenticity of MIM strats; while there may be some, very few people are going to go through the work of creating a fake of entry level priced guitar, id be more suspicious of MIA and CS than any MIM's. Its like if you were counterfiting $1 bills, they payoff isnt worth the risk of gettting caught

Not so fast, Check out this thread here:

http://www.mylespaul.com/forums/epiphon ... ad-ii.html

Its 298 pages long and full of fake Epiphones. Believe it or not there are tons of Fake epiphones out there and even fake MIMs. People are less likely to check the authenticity of these guitars, and there is still plenty of profit to be made especially when they are made in chinese fake factories for next to nothing.

Agreed. I recently saw an obviously faked Squier Strat locally on Craigslist, and decided that the creator probably figured that no one would question the authenticity of a cheap guitar.
