I got mine in the summer of 1980, I was 16. It was a black 76 with maple neck. It was a birthday gift from my mom.

a 2004 MIM that a neighbor traded me for all of my legos. (He had this project he's wanted to do since childhood, but didn't have the 20,000 bricks to complete it. I have 3,000 bricks or so.)

I bought a new Squire (Alpine White, SSS, maple neck) in 1995. Only had a few months before I was stationed in Korea. Didn't have another strat until 2009 which was a new 2008 Fender Deluxe Lonestar Strat (Alpine White HSS). Now I'm back to '96 Tex-Mex. I want a SSS Alpine White, rosewood board, 4 ply brown tortoise shell, gold hardware American Standard strat. Hoping next year will be the year I get it.

Sounds like a freakin' good deal! does he need any more?!

This is my first.

2001 American Deluxe HSS, Chrome Red. Bought in 2003, was an ex-demo from Fender's UK showroom.

Image

Then I went a bit crazy and decided to rip apart the electronics...

Image

Originally had a DiMarzio Cruiser humbucker at the neck, then a weird brandless stacked humbucker (looked like an EMG/Lace, was definitely not) and a Tonerider Generator humbucker at the bridge. Then I went all DiMarzio, got a singlecoil Super Distortion for the middle and a D-Sonic for the bridge.

Image

Then I swapped the necks with the None More Black I got this year, but it played like $@!& so I swapped it back and sold the None More Black on...

And we're back where we started. :)

1997 American Standard, 3TSB with rosewood neck. I put a set of Texas Specials in it and changed the pickguard to mother of toilet seat. Wish I still had it.

I got mine in mid 2006, it was a 2006 hwy1 I was floored
By it. Awesome action, the neck was thin and wide though.
I loved the pickups though.

Do you still have your 70s strat

Mine was way back in 1996.....Mom and Dad got me a brand new Mexican standard Strat...in a metal-flake red with maple neck! I still have it! That was the beginning of a life-long strat addiction! :/

A lovely Squier Affinity, i think an '03, back in summer of '06.
Black, white pickguard, rosewood.
Had quite a few mods and been dropped a lot since then.
It's crazy light and the pickups are trebly as hell, but it's got a nice thin neck and homebrewed appeal.

I got my first around '91 or '92, a black MIM with w/b/w pick guard and rosewood fret board, purchased from the Guitar Center in SF when it was still south of the Mission District. I QUICKLY learned what 60Hz hum was all about. I think that guitar is still in Cali.
