I want to upgrade my Fender American Deluxe Strat(SSS) to HSS. Want to switch my single on the bridge with a Dimarzio. I heard sss deluxe strats have an extra pickup space that allows you to put a normal sized humbucker on your guitar with a changing on your pickguard(i'm interesting with this cause i don't wanna put a single sized humbucker). Can anyone confirm this? I don't know the production date of my guitar but it's new because it has S-1 switching system.

best way to know is to pull the pick guard off an peek under the hood

Bear in mind this is not an upgrade but a modification. SSS can be great, depending on your style and gear etc, so can HSS.

Oh, of course i know this is a modification, sorry i'm not a native speaker I love the tone of SSS too but i want more distortion so humbucker is vital for me

Yes the body is already cut for a humbucker. What style do you play? I just put in a full sized humbucker. I went to a dimarzio D'activater. I love it!

Oh really? I'm playin mostly hard rock. So you liked your new humbucker? Tell me about it, you put it on the bridge? I want to go with DiMarzio PAF Pro. Heard and watched many great things about it and it's the bridge pickup of Richie Sambora Signature! By the way, thanks for the answer. Like i said i like my SSS but i want it as a HSS so that question was very vital for me !! )
