I have been saving for 2 months for a masterbuilt and

saved up exactly 5 grand.

How much more do you think I have to save more to order a masterbuilt?

I have getting tired guys......

I just want a strat with 3 single coils, birds eye neck, white body with white pick guard.

What more do I need....

You'll be making many more choices than that. The shop will want to know what bridge you want, type of tuners, neck radius and fret size, nitro or poly, body wood, type of pickups, etc etc etc before starting your guitar.

Seriously? You want to pay more than 5 G's for a Fender? Hendrix played strats off the shelf, Clapton's Blackie was a bunch of different throw away strats put together, Stevie Ray was asked, "Why do you want that old thing for?" when he bought #1. Just sayin'. I'd spend it on a PRS, Collings, or on a Martin before I spent 5 grand on a Fender because I would want to feel like my money was spent on workmanship, and not on satisfying my need to have something different from everybody else.

Hi there Hopes!

Congrats on saving the 5 grand.
I would think you are ready to go! Contact your Fender dealer and move the ball forward.
It would appear that you don´t have something too fancy in mind so your budget seems ok.
Get on that waiting list as soon as you can! Keep us posted and good luck! :D

Did you look at the Quote sheet?
http://support.fendercs.com/downloads/F ... 042011.pdf

They need alot of info to make it custom for you.
Otherwise they could just take one off the shelve and put the CS logo on it.

I think its great - Buy what you want and be Happy :) Life is Short, Live it!!

Well sadly, many people today have to have their perfect instrument, oftentimes to make up for their lack of skill. But hey, if you can afford you, go for it.

So someone wants a strat that's built to their specifications. I see no problem with that. I have a masterbuilt strat and no other guitar i've played or owned compares to it.

There's nothing here that you can't get on a team-built CS guitar for around 2 grand.

I have a master built by Todd Krause. It plays and feels like nothing else, nothing! I have a CS built Clapton Strat. It's great but doesn't compare to the TK machine.

I'd suggest looking for a used Masterbuilt to your specs. If you could find one that you like - you'll save thousands. I buy many of my guitars used - they're generally in perfect condition and much cheaper. A guitar like yours could be anywhere from $5000 to $8000 depending on how in depth you go. If you buy the same guitar used, you could get it for anywhere from $2500 to $4500 depending where you get it. Can't hurt to look! Although if you want the CS experience - I'd say bite the bullet and go for it! Then you know you'll get exactly what you want.

Best of luck!
