First question is about the MIM stratocaster i was offered to purchase. He wants $150 for the guitar had some wear and tear, no big deal cause thats why i want a MIM.. however i cannot figure out what pickups hes got in it, he doesnt know either. They're EMGs 81s with a hb in the bridge? Wondering if its even a mim body... can anyone else tell?

And about my usa standard, i noticed the rosewood fingerboard extends past the neck, is this some kind of defect?

That kind of board design is intended to accommodate 22 frets. Count 'em. As for the guitar in question, not enough visuals. Headstock, serial numbers..??? Could be anything.

thanks for the reply, hes sending more pictures tonight. im just kinda weary whether its just a neck thrown on a different body or if hes cut into the body to fit the different pickups, he doesnt know anything about the guitar because it was given to him by a friend :/ and im not one to be able to identify a genuine over a copy

Are you sure those are EMG 81's, and not a passive pickup? Make sure you see a battery pack somewhere, or know if its not that, that isnt the humbucker that's in it.

I have no clue what it is I was just guessing. I'm not familiar with emg pickups and thought it was strange to see them in this guitar so I was questioning it.
