I once read an article about polishing the frets with a Dremel. Does anyone here do that or recommend something similar?

I've never heard of using a Dremel. I do have one of my guitars in the shop now to have a level, crown, and polish done on the frets. I'll have to ask the luthier what he uses.

Unless you were positive you knew exactly what you were doing, I wouldn't put a dremel anywhere near your fretboard.

A dremel, even on low speeds has an incredible amount of rpm's. That would equate to heat and heat would or could lead to discoloration. I'd be really careful.

Perhaps this might work better: Image LOL

Seriously, I saw the bits and pieces at Stewmac... they even have little metal slotted thingies that go around the frets and protect the fretboard.

I wouldn't go anywhere near my fretboard with a Dremel. It sould do some serious damage.
