Before you spend the money on a VG, better check it out. My band mate bought one. His other Strat is a Clapton Signature. The VG eats batteries. The four AA batteries don'e even last one gig. When the blue light starts blinking, you are supposed to have a half hour of battery life left. Well, its more like 5 minutes and its dead. It may be the amp, but I think the various settings sound artificial, especially the acoustic. He ends up playing the Clapton Strat the most. Now, he's thinking of trading in the VG on a Knopfler Strat. Maybe the VG would be a good tool for recording, but live its been troublesome to get used to. Since I'm the kind of guy who plays one guitar all night, or at least for a whole set, the VG doesn't interest me.
