Hi guys,

Quick question, I lost a couple of the pickguard screws from my 2008 American Standard Strat and I want to replace them.

I think the original screws are nickel as they aren't so shiny, but I can't say for sure as the the whole pickguard is getting "weathered" as it ages. :)

Can someone please confirm? Thanks!

I would suggest nickel is far more likely. Chromium is rather expensive in comparison to nickel. Almost everything we commonly refer to as "chrome" is actually nickel. From car bumpers to HD emblems to LP pickup rings and tuning machines. I would be quite surprized if the screws were in fact chromium plated. Chrome plating services are available in most cities but you usually have to go to something like a hydraulic cylinder rebuild shop or something similar to find it.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
