Post subject: New Neck Finish on MIM Stratocaster and Teles?

I stopped by by a couple of music shops this weekend and noticed the necks on the Mexican Standard Strats and Teles have a high gloss finish on the fingerboard. Has anyone else seen this? Looks pretty cool! I wonder why Fender hasn't mentioned it on their web site. They don't seem to be FSR editions just standard Mexican.

I just bought a 2011 neck for a project. It's kinda glossy. not very though.
