I have a vintage 1979 Fender Stratocaster, Serial # S991002 made in USA . This is a beautiful guitar white on white with a three bolt maple neck. This guitar is not all original it has music man tuners probably from the 70's and a different pick guard. It has some stress cracks in paint but overall in very good condition for it's year. It comes with a Ibaneze hard shell case. 1000$ or best offer.

any input would be great!

I'd do it for $900 if I had the money.

Hi pscrip,

Hard to say without seeing some pictures.

Edit:
I hope that you aren't trying to sell your guitar here, that is not allowed.

As long as those "stress cracks in the paint" weren't anywhere near the neck pocket, I would give this guitar some serious consideration. But bear in mind, many of these ash-bodied boat anchors weighed in excess of ten pounds (my '79 25th Anniversary Strat tipped the scales at nearly 16 lbs!).

Body looks strange.....I think it´s a partscaster with an original 79 neck.

Cheers,
Robin

A better pic of the body would help.....and being able to look at the bridge saddles would help too....do you have the die cast, plated saddles? If the body, neck and pickups/electronics are indeed the original Fender parts then $1000 would be in the right ball-park....overall condition will affect the price more than anything....cause it is just old enough to be a well used guitar, and the collectability (while there is some) isn't there...yet. PS.....stress cracks in the paint near the neck pocket means nothing to me...the vast majority of bolt on guitars will develop these over time....If you didn't drop the guitar hard enough to crack the maple neck, there's no freaking way you split that old piece of ash! and even if you did, it wouldn't crack in a manner that would weaken the structural integrity of the neck/body joint!
