Hey Everyone,

I bought this Strat and the guy claimed it was a totally legit 1999 Deluxe Strat. After taking it apart, I have some questions. The body cavity looks to be cut to accommodate HSH rather than SSS. I wasn't sure if this is was right because I've seen the insides of other strats that had a more narrow neck pickup cutout. Also there is some kind of little dime sized hole in the body below and between the neck and middle pickups. And is the white sticker in the body and the white sticker on the neck supposed to be the same? It has an "N9..." serial # and the body and neck are stamped Aug 1999, it just seemed odd to me. Anyone know what I've got?

I think you've got precisely what the seller alleged.

"Modern" Strats are now routed for a H/S/H configuration to adapt them to a variety of factory pickup scenarios. That dime-sized divot on the lower bout is a datum point to assist the automated CAD/CNC machinery while cutting, shaping, and routing the body during the fabrication phase.
